“My family (2 adults and three kids ages 15, 13, and 9) stayed in Rising Tide for a week in June 2024. I cannot say enough about how perfect a stay we had. Nadejda and her partner were fantastic, friendly hosts, who welcomed us to the house and were super responsive to any questions we had. They have a ton of local knowledge and connections to the region, and they provided us with the best insider tips that really made our family trip special.

The house itself is exactly as beautiful as it appears in the pictures: awash with light from the wall of windows on the pond-facing side, with peaceful, private woodland views from the bathrooms and bedrooms. The whole interior is brand new and sparkling clean, with a fresh pine scent from the gorgeous wood floors, ceilings, and trim. Every bathroom and bedroom is painted in soothing colors, thoughtfully decorated and furnished with pieces that made us feel completely comfortable, welcomed and at home. The open-plan living room was such a soothing place to pass the time together playing card games, reading, or just enjoying the beautiful views. The kitchen, with its awesome high-end appliances, had everything we needed (and more) to prepare meals for the family on the days and nights we ate in. Our kids especially loved the second-floor loft and "nook," which became their place to hang out together. And the blue bathroom, with its incredible soaking tub, is just divine. It was like living inside our own private spa... 

Outdoors, we made great use of the property's dock on Walker's Pond, heading out on the paddleboards, kayak, and canoe daily to swim, splash around in the clear and refreshing water, and explore all the little nooks and crannies along the shore. During our stay, our kids were enthralled by the pair of nesting loons right off the side of the dock! The nights were so quiet and peaceful -- the property is just isolated enough, with no neighbors visible, and on cool summer nights you can open all the screened windows to sleep in that perfect, crisp Maine air.

During our stay, we had a great time exploring this new-to-us region of Maine, which is just incredible. Nadejda and her partner had excellent recommendations for us, pointing us toward some great local restaurants and giving us tips for our drives around the breathtaking coastal landscapes of Penobscot Bay/Blue Hill. We especially enjoyed our day trips to check out the cute shops in Blue Hill, eat lobster in Deer Isle/Stonington, and watch the moon rise over Bakeman Beach. Acadia is an easy day trip (although honestly we found the Penobscot Bay area much more beautiful and peaceful by comparison). 

We were so thrilled with our trip, and we cannot wait to go back to Rising Tide. In the meanwhile, we will enjoy the fantastic memories that we made there.”
